The Greatest Films of All Time - The List of Lists

There are only a few respectable lists of The Greatest Films of All Time, namely Sight & Sound's lists (both critics' and directors'), Cahiers du Cinéma's 2008 and The Village Voice's 2000 lists. In order to assemble the best of the best, we decided to create our own list - The List of Lists -, a consensus list of the greatest films ever. For that reason, only the Top 25 films of each list would make the final cut (which meant 60 films became eligible): the top film would score 25 points, the second place 24 points, and so on, the 25th scoring 1 point. The Top 25 of each list would then count 25% for the final scoring.

The big winner is Orson Welles's Citizen Kane (1941), which scored 98 out of a maximum 100 points: 2nd in both Sight & Sound's 2012 lists (24+24), 1st in both Cahiers du Cinéma's and The Village Voice's (25+25).
